  • Light Pillars

Are these another sign of the coming of Christ?
I only just read this yesterday:
“Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars” (Proverbs 9:1)
and have been pondering its meaning ever since...
then God once again showed me this today....

"Light pillars return to southwestern Ontario. Snow squall just ended."

    Light pillars

Only lately, these photo's of light pillars seem to be appearing with frequency.

"Written references on light pillars in high-altitude clouds are extremely rare.
Most standard works and specialized websites on atmospheric optics pay little or
no attention to the phenomenon. In the best of cases a photograph or sketch is
presented accompanied by a short comment. This is actually quite amazing since
the first detailed descriptions originate from as long back as the beginning of
    the industrial era. "

  • more in the news:

Lying seems to be epidemic... like people just can't seem to help themselves,
and telling a lie is as natural as telling a truth.... :-/

    also:
I think I have discovered why the British (and perhaps our friend Michel in France)
    are so fond of hats...
hats help to keep heat from escaping, an important thing in cold climes. :-)

    and for fun:
    My newest favorite treat...
    a toasted waffle,
with a scoop of Breyers pure vanilla ice cream,
    fresh walnuts,
and a drizzle of pure maple syrup

and yes, I am enjoying this tonight, in spite of the cold weather. :-D

  • Icyness and shocks!

I was not aware that we were expecting snow flurries, sleet, and icyness today...
I thought since it didn't come last night we were in the clear...
The pines are assuming their stooped postures from the ice encasing their needles.

It's a two pairs of socks day. :-) The kitchen floors are cold. I live upstairs and
I think my downstairs neighbor has moved out.

... and a large mug of hot tea day :-D .... an Irish Breakfast day  :-)
and sit down to watch Murder She Wrote. :-)

and this felt like the perfect song for today...
    The Pleiades and Orion

been shocking the h__ out of myself all day too, due to the weather... and the socks...
I am fearful of turning on, or off, any light switch as I get a tremendous, powerful shock,
every time, due to the static electricity build-up! :-o

  • in the news tonight

Ice caves on lake Michigan... so cool

In weather like this I am so thankful that my mother is living in Florida.
(on the news was an elderly woman found lying deceased/frozen not far from
her car that had gotten stuck on the road. :-( )

I will be wrapping up in my nice warm fleece, feels like a blanket robe, later tonight.

    other news:
Yay counter culture.... Apparently the Oscar's got record low viewing last night.
I hope that is because so many felt that Downton Abbey had more to offer them.  :-D :-D
We need a shift in culture.

  • Mark 3:25

if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods,
except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

  • warm heart & political notes

So, I decided on this the coldest day of the year so far, that I would go out and get my mail...

(I confess, I wanted to experience the 'feel' of the bitter cold.... :-) )

and I found something to warm my heart...

    a Valentine's Day card...

Thanks Crystal... you brought warmth to my day.  :-)

    Political notes:
My ears pricked up when listening to the news tonight and I noticed
    they referred to 'Mr. Obama'...
Obviously he doesn't merit the respect of the title President.

and God forgive me when I see these reports of these poor Yazidi girls,
and other girls that have been taken by these evil men... when I see these evil men...
God forgive me I just wish we could go and wipe them all out.
Time for another crusade of all decent people of the world.
I can't shed enough tears for the evil that is in this world.

  • I think that for Lent, I will continue with my reading of the Psalms...
perhaps this time I will finish them.

    Psalm 42

1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear
    before God?
3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me,
    Where is thy God?
4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with
the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and
praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope
thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from
the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.
7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts:
all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.

  • My world - upside down

Last night, instead of temperatures dropping, they climbed into the mid-50's by 4:00 am...
and around 9:00 am when temperatures usually begin to rise, they dropped into the 30's...
can anyone say polar shift? .... or some kind of shift anyway...

  • So... freezing temp.'s all day... freezing rain expected later in the day...

    Image result for shivering
it always frets me to think of my children on the roads in these conditions,
no matter how old they may be.

Lord keep the road traveler's safe today.

Today's one of those odd-ball holidays, isn't it?  So no mail post today? No banks open?
