  • I need a more European style of living.  :-)

  • Monday reflections - time with God

    Look up, Look up,
I hear the Lord saying to me,
    Look up

    Moon pillars and cloud prisms,
    Look up
    See My wonders
Spread the Word of My glory
    Look up
    - C.Lynn

will you not sit with Me one hour?

Jesus knocks   Knock and the door will be opened (Matthew 7:7)

I, the Lord, will enter in (to your life) (Revelation 3:20)

I will strengthen, I will guide,
I, the Lord, will protect and defend you

saving hand   I am your salvation.

  • Once the world was young
For I was twenty and very old
And you and I knew all the answers
What the day was, how the hours would turn
One dial was there to see
Now the world is old and I am still young
For the young know nothing, nothing

I love her house... I want to go visit it.

I toured Korner's Folly once, and absolutely loved it.  I like touring interesting(eccentric) homes.

I loved touring gardens and exploring old buildings when I was young.

    Longwood gardens

  • amazements

    Taiwan -
I would say, the pilot did a good job and deserves a post mortem commendation.
That plane was definitely out of control and the crash could have been sooo
much worse.  The river was the safest place to go and somehow he managed it.

    apparitions -
Has anyone heard of, and seen the photo's of, what people believe are apparitions
of the blessed Mother Mary over northern Iraq?

    other news -
    Obama does it again...
"any time anyone tries to distort our religion" (with a quick self-correct to say 'any' religion)

I have no doubt, islam is Obama's religion, and that is why he has such a hard time denouncing
and calling out ISIS for what it is... islamic terrorism.
Oh yes - and it's going down to 22 degrees tonight....Brrr

  • Gripes

You know what gripes me? I go to the doctor. I spend 2 hours, he spends 30 minutes.
He gets $184, and never does anything that helps me. What is this money paying for?
This is why I don't go to doctors. I say if they can't help they shouldn't have the
gall to bill $184. And of course they always want you to make an appointment to
    come back.   Pfft.

    Pfft

  • News today

Watching shocking video of the Tawainese aircraft that went down in the river...
Can you imagine being the person in that vehicle on the bridge that nearly caught their end?
Watching in real time just stops my breath.
[edit: I just saw it confirmed.... that vehicle was a taxi, and it was clipped!]

and why can't the fighting in Ukraine stop?

  • Humor today :-D

  • coffee, weather, and a quote

    1 cup of coffee day at $1 = $365/year
so what about a $3 cup of coffee per day?  more than $1000/year
and how about that $5(after taxes) cup of coffee?
I remember when I could not justify $5 every day for lunch(still can't), let alone $5 per day for coffee.
How much would that amount of money have helped a poor or starving family in another
nation where they must live on $1 per day.....
(Sorry Frank... I was listening to a fund raiser this morning.  :-) )

    in other notes:
Looks like our weather here is going to do the usual crazy bouncing thing...
like a ping pong ball...  low of 27... high of 59... low of 40... high of 48...
low of 26... high of 50..... like a rock skipping across water...
impossible to get in a groove.

It's nice today(about 50), but it was 27 last night, and will be 27 again tonight...
and the same for the rest of the week, up and down, up and down....

    and one final note, a quote from a wise, wise, man;
    BENEDICT XVI (2005 - 2013)

“The State which would provide everything, absorbing everything into itself, would
ultimately become a mere bureaucracy incapable of guaranteeing the very thing
which the suffering person - every person - needs: namely, loving personal concern.
We do not need a State which regulates and controls everything, but a State which,
in accordance with the principle of subsidiarity, generously acknowledges and supports
initiatives arising from the different social forces and combines spontaneity with
    closeness to those in need."
