  • have yourself a merry little Christmas

~ let your heart be light ~

                                        :-)

  • How come the warm days, are always sunless days?
The warmth can't get into my house without the sun. :-(

So last night I was feeling mentally challenged...
How come wrapping a gift is suddenly so difficult for me to figure out?  lol
I couldn't figure out how to get the paper the direction I wanted... I didn't cut it large enough, then I couldn't figure out how to get it to fold in correctly on the ends... then my body was hurting from sitting on the floor, from bending over... Geesh.... when did life get so frustrating.  lol

Anyway, for better or worse, the last two gifts are wrapped,
and tonight I have my Christmas gathering with my daughter and son-in-law, since they will be going out of town on Monday for Christmas with his parents.

    Merry early  Christmas

"While Christians are falsely accused by homosexual activists of being haters, the real bigotry and hatred here is coming from those on the left who want to silence every voice that speaks biblical truth in the public square. They hypocritically want the liberty to freely express their own opinions on these matters while squashing opportunity for Christians to voice their own opinions.

The real bullies here are homosexual activists and the victims are people of faith like Phil Robertson who believe, as you and I do, in the truth of God's word and simply want the same freedom they have to openly proclaim and defend our views."

Those with unnatural(i.e., homosexual) inclinations are now out of the closet and with the agenda to shove those who support the Truth of God, into the closet.

  • Frost on the car again...

    frosty

  • Cards done -

Christmas cards  check, and double check

    decorations

Christmas decorations  for the most part, done

but for the most part, I am done... ready for the holiday. :-)

  • happy bird 2

I've been roasting, toasting, and cooking on my porch...
It is a glorious 65 degrees today.
I've been soaking away my pains and stiffness.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, it is supposed to be in the 70's again.
Ah, winters in the south... no need for this snowbird to fly away anywhere. :-)

    happy bird

  • I feel like I should be outside on this beautiful day, but it is a bit cool...
a good day to put on a jacket and take a walk down to the pond.
If I were in my daughter's neighborhood I might feel inspired to do so... :-/

Getting back to the Psalms -

O lord God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee:
    Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry;
For my soul is full of troubles
    Psalm 88

    third Sunday of advent

    Third Sunday of Advent

  • Going down to 27 tonight.  I've just been out and there's already frost on the cars.

    Brrr

  • I bet some of my friends here can appreciate this...

A little consolation for those of us who bundled up in every coat we own this morning in a bid to stay warm: It could be worse. Much, much worse.

NASA announced this week that it has found a new coldest place on Earth (and much to my surprise it's not Iowa City). After analyzing more than three decades worth of satellite data, researchers found that temperatures plummeted to record lows dozens of times "in clusters of pockets near a high ridge between Dome Argus and Dome Fuji, two summits on the ice sheet known as the East Antarctic Plateau." The new all-time record low recorded was an almost unimaginable minus-135.8 degrees Fahrenheit—for the metric lovers among us, that's minus-93.2 degrees Celsius—set on Aug. 10, 2010. (The same area came close to breaking that record again on July 31 of this year, when the temperature dropped to minus-135.3 degrees.)
