  • Another question...
    How many people understand electricity...
    AC - DC
    alternating current vs. direct current
I don't understand what makes the difference...
and yet we are all dependent on it....
much the way we are becoming dependent on technology,
which we also don't understand or control.
Can it be only me that sees this as worrisome...
putting our lives so much in the hands of others... ?

Has anyone heard of Nikola Tesla?
and what became of him? Why does everyone know of Thomas Edison but Tesla is so little known?

  • Unknown answers to questions #2

Another odd thing I don't know the answer to and have always wondered about....

What keeps rain from going down chimneys?

    in other notes:
I had a glimpse of the heron again today as it sailed past my windows.
It had been quite some time since I'd seen him last.

  • You must go on.

    I can't go on.

    I'll go on.

    - Samuel Beckett

  • Today brought to you by the letter 'M'.

    Miserable, moody, melancholy....

Today brought to you by the letter 'M'... thanks Crystal.  ;-)

  • Blackfish

I am so incredibly moved, in so many ways, by watching this movie.  Highly recommend to all to watch.
It really makes you wonder about the nature of humanity.  For me....  Why?  Why do people lie?
What makes people choose to lie and continue to do a thing which has been revealed as so unacceptable?

  • I'm a miserable gripy, grump today...
with goodness knows, no good thing to say
no grin, no goal, no gumption,
    and too little grace

    grumpy

How's that for honesty? erm smiley

How miserable I am!  woe is me bear
I feel like the fruit picker after the harvest
who can find nothing to eat.

  • Respite

    What a perfect day...
On Wednesday I like to watch Father Brown at 3:00,
and today is all rainy and overcast...
the perfect day to accept respite without guilt. :-)

    Luke 12:35 (Lynn version)
'be dressed and ready, and keep the home fires burning... keep the lamps lit to show that you wait and are ready'

    Micah 7
    How miserable I am!
I feel like the fruit picker after the harvest
who can find nothing to eat.
Not a cluster of grapes or a single early fig
can be found to satisfy my hunger.

2 The good man is perished out of the earth:
and there is none upright among men:
    they all lie in wait for blood;
they hunt every man his brother with a net.

3 Both their hands are equally skilled at doing evil!
Officials and judges alike demand bribes.
The people with influence get what they want,
and together they scheme to twist justice.

    4 Even the best of them is like a brier;
the most upright is sharper than a hedge of thorns.
    But our Lord is coming
and now shall be the time of confusion.

    Micah 7 2

    8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise;
when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.

9 I will bear the indignation of the Lord, because I have sinned against him,
until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me:
he will bring me forth to the light,
and I shall behold his righteousness.

  • and so it begins.... the never ending barrage of political phone messages.... erm smiley

I wish there were a way to tell the candidates that I will not vote for anyone who chooses
bashing another rather than just putting forth what they stand for.

  • Oh that it could be like this all the time...
    the weather is so perfect.

    Ezekiel 22:28 (NLT)
Your leaders are like wolves who tear apart their victims. They actually destroy people's lives for money!

  • This took my breath away, when I happened to see it on a news report.

Amateur photographer Jeremy Fletcher took the image as he strolled beside the Wash,
the wide estuary between Norfolk and Lincolnshire.

Mr Fletcher, of Bray, Berkshire, was in the area for a three-month attachment as a
company finance director, and took the photograph on an evening walk.

    Mr Fletcher, who said he was not a religious person... but;

He said: "I realised the image looked remarkably like a face of a man with a beard
so I took a number of shots on my phone. The face appeared to be looking back towards the shore."
