  • I find it almost unbearable going out into the public anymore... everywhere I see people tattoo'd and pierced, and I find that distressing to look at.  :-(
Know they not that their bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit to live in? How can the Holy Spirit come to live in a desecrated temple?

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost...

  • It can be sad, but I have learned that some of them are Christians and regret it ~ some have gotten them since becoming Christian and feel their tattoos are giving praise to God ~ or are a testimony somehow. I'm learning to withhold judgment, because I certainly do not always know the whole story ~ :)

  • 3 of my daughters have tattoos. Theirs are not in plain sight, and are small and tasteful and mean something to them like names or birthdays of their children. I still don't like them. Oh well, they're grown and make their own decisions. They are Christians. What bothers me are the really gross ones, and the body piercing. It just hurts me to look at people with metal stuck all over their faces. I can handle earrings, or a small stud in the nose, but that's about it.

  • Matthew 7:1-3
    King James Version (KJV)

Judge not, that ye be not judged.
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

In layman's term: Those in glass houses should not throw stones. Remember we each have sinned in some way, and all sins are seen as equal in the eyes of the Lord, so who are we to judge. We should just be thankful we all have been forgiven through the blood of Jesus Christ.

  • Amen, Crystalinne! I understand JstAnotherDay saying it is hard to see ~ for us older ones, it really is ~ and hard to understand ~ but I'm learning ~ and yes, so very thankful to be forgiven of my sins which are no different in God's eyes ~ :)

  • Many years ago, I had a young man as my patient, and he had his ENTIRE torso and arms tattooed. He was very angry with himself for doing that and wanted laser surgery to remove it all.
I see now that it is a fashion statement and just about any and every one seems to think that is "cool" to have such hideous tattoos on their bodies.
I agree with you about our bodies being temples.

  • I always wonder if they will be happy with what they did to their beautiful bodies later in life. :-(
    HUGS!!!

  • I have tattoos all over my body caused by the surgeon's cutting instruments.

I know what you mean. I don't like them, but I have on grand daughter with some who talked my daughter into one small one.

    I live in silence.
