the fighting is just everywhere, never ending...
until the world learns to beat its weapons into plowshares....
wishing I had an electric blanket for tonight...
cold, cold, cold
Peace, by Jason Upton
I want to know Your heart as a child knows his Father's
I want to know Your voice as a little boy knows his Father's
I hear You at a distance
When the world can't make it out
I can hear You call in Your voice O, Father
Your voice, O Father, a still small voice
I want to hear Your voice, O Father
Even when it seems at a distance
When people think I'm crazy, for thinking I can hear
I want to know Your voice, O Father
I want to hear it coming
I want to be the first around the corner
Take Your hand and walk with You
To the chair that You have
Sit down on Your lap and hold on
fearful of a generation
generation, puffed up with Christian pride
I want to hold onto you Father
peace that comes from knowing the whisper of the Father
I give you peace in the midst of your brokenness
in the midst of your emptiness
in the midst of the moments when you feel so tired
when you feel you can't go on
I give you peace
when it takes far too much
when the world seems too cruel
times when you are fearful
I give you peace
peace of the child, holding on
I want to see the cloud
the cloud coming
give me the eyes of a child
I want to see You coming
in the midst of the trial, I know You're coming
and the restlessness is that of a child waiting on His peace
Yesterday I could not stay awake at all...
last night it took forever for sleep to overtake me, even though I ceased to run...
My day started with hearing this;
Can't believe it's Feb. 1st already. The new year, well under way.
Interesting, I just looked at my calendar, and it says today is National Freedom Day
Wound down my day hearing this;
"Think before you speak, and don't speak all that you think." - old American proverb
I think I have trouble with that last part.
another one;
"Think twice and say nothing."
Now I am getting better at that one.
"Only in the dictionary does success come before work" - unknown author
It is interesting that the Creator(God) has not just wiped out all things human already.
Humans bring destruction to everything they touch. Why does the all-powerful allow them to remain?
There must be a purpose.
Why allow us to remain unless there is something we must achieve?
something to be achieved... a higher thing to be reached for.
Why not remove humans from the earth and let the animals have it to live in balance and harmony.
What would happen without humans? ...
are humans the top of the food chain, and without them certain animal populations would grow out of control?
Or would disease take them? Certainly God has designed it so that natural attrition would take them
through disease...
Are humans the only biological creatures that kill one another? ... a necessary way to control our own
populations since we are the top of the food chain?
Yet it seems unlikely, for surely, if we did not interfere with God's design, natural attrition and disease
would take us as well.
Having both the knowledge and ability to save lives, yet we seem propelled to take them...
even the lives of other humans.
Other species may fight among themselves, but do they kill one another? ... maybe some, and
maybe on occasion... but most certainly they do not kill one another deliberately with purpose,
and in large numbers, as humans do.
So why does God allow humans to continue in existence?
There must be some purpose...
some higher thing to be reached for.
Jack Ma... fascinating man... love listening to him.
He's a tremendous example of where having initiative can take you.
He was not a man that was 'handed' anything. Many could learn from his example.
"At an early age, Ma developed a desire to learn English so he rode his bike for 45 minutes each morning
in order to go to a nearby hotel and converse with foreigners. He would guide them around the city
for free in order to practice and improve his English."
He talks about how his interaction with the foreigners, opened his mind to thinking.
I cringe whenever I hear the media speaking of 'the president's legacy concerns'. Is it really all about ego
for our leaders? Who cares if they leave a legacy, as long as they lead the country, and maintain its survival.
I not only cringe but it makes me very angry. Can it be only me?
If we can shut down the flow of money to Iran,
why can we not shut down the flow of money to ISIS?
Frank is my great tempter... everyday he makes me want coffee, and I must resist this temptation.
