  • I can't believe I'm saying this, but what Obama had to say about immigration tonight actually makes sense.
Let's 'get them out of the shadows' and paying their proper taxes for being in the country.
I mean, they're here, we know they're here, we know they're going to keep coming until the determination
is made to secure the border,
but why deport good people who desire to be part of the law abiding community of this nation.
This will help to separate the ones we want here from the ones we don't want... the ones who wish to
abide by the laws and those who don't.

Do have to wonder though what sort of message it sends to the world when he acts the way he does...
and whether it is deliberate? I think other nations are going to see us as a nation falling apart,
and the more this is believed, the more it will become self-fulfilling. We really need a good leader.
We need another Reagan, to come along and tighten the ropes and pull the nation back together.

and OH MY GOSH! have you seen the snow in New York?
People can't find their cars because they're buried in snow!

Next up... what happens when all that snow melts??

Yes, I decided to watch the news tonight.

and did anyone see the article about how in China they have achieved a way to simulate labor pains
so that men can experience what it feels like. Hilarious to watch the men realize how painful it is.
    Not a bad thing. :-)

  • I'm so glad I was inspired by Marsha(mlbncsga) to do the map thing.
It has been so fun to see how much everyone has traveled, and where to. :-)

Hittin' the 20's tonight... winter's on it's way.

  • Unknown answers to questions...

    No one had any response to my earlier;
Why is it that the rest of the world is opposite to England when it comes to driving?

    today's pondering is
Has anyone ever wondered who came up with the idea for pencils... a piece of lead encased in wood?
How is that even done?  :-)

and just an other odd thought:
These days it's hard to tell if it's getting dark, or if it's just getting ready to rain.  It gets dark so early now.  :-/

  • Yesterday's musings and today's thoughts

Yesterday - dark days and hope

It's what I call a 'dark day' - overcast.  Dark days can be difficult without the proper state of mind.
I choose to say; I will enjoy this day by taking it for an excuse to stay in, stay comfortable, watch movies,
cook, or read under a cozy blanket. :-)

    Holding on to hope...
I look at my kitchen/sunroom/dining area - the tomato plant sprawling in it with lots of beginnings of tomatos on it-
and I know my daughter (and probably others would too) thinks I'm nuts for bringing them in through the winter -
but for me it's holding on to hope - the hope of seeing those tomatos grow - it's all I've got - holding on to hope.
I count. I've got my first ever cluster of 3, then there's 3 more, and one almost ready - 7 - God's number, 7. Hope.
Lot's of flowers - and I like seeing the flowers turn into those first buds of fruit. Hope - I like to see things grow.
    Hope - watching things grow.

Today - on the news, more tragic, horrific, sad news

How can we make sense of the senslessness of killing a man doing aid work for Syrians?
and a man that had converted to islam, at that.

  • I'm not sure I remember who said it, but they seem to be correct...

the great commercial machine seems to be skipping right over Thanksgiving this year and going straight to Christmas.

  • Thought Frank would be interested. Have you visited this island Frank?
    lava flow Hawaii

The slow-motion disaster continues at Kilauea.  So far, the lava has destroyed one home. http://bit.ly/1EKAhPD

  • Stupidity makes me angry... nothing makes me angrier
and let's face it, legalizing marijuana is stupidity!

    amnesty for illegals is stupidity!

    Bush
    Clinton
putting either of these two names on future election ballots is stupidity!

I don't understand how either of these two names could possibly appear on an election ballot in the future.
It seems to me that the general public would be
running screaming from both these names.
Previously candidates could run on the basis of a good name...
neither of these are good names!
