the peaceful sounds of silence...
no air conditioning units running, and only the quiet chirping of the crickets
I've always wondered what made Disney choose a cricket to represent the conscience... perhaps it is because
in the stillness and silence is when we hear God, and it is also when we hear the crickets.

Jiminy Cricket was appointed by the Blue Fairy to be Pinnochio's conscious. Perhaps he was chosen to show that even the least of us can have importance.
Last night I managed with no AC, but still needed the ceiling fan, and the one in my room is rather noisy so I pretty much hear nothing else. (which is fine on nights the neighbors come home loud and drunk)
Interesting question. Walt Disney must have had a great imagination!
Sorry about no AC. I don't hear anything until I put on my hearing aids.

No A/c is a good thing. It meant the peace and stillness of the night.
It means the weather is cool enough to open windows and enjoy.
