I'm not real pleased with this one, but it's what I've got.
Snowbirds
fleeing from the cold
seeking the warmer climes
some fly on wings
down highways in the skies
some fly in automobiles
down highways built by man
made of tar
meant to take them farI prefer the ones that fly on the wings that were given by God,
that don't pollute,
and bring beauty where they go.
Their arrival is a thing to look forward to
not to dread.
Any day, I prefer the things of God, instead.

Nice job, Lynn.
I am not a snowbird, but used to be one in Michigan--for us it was escaping to Hawaii.
I think it's great...I like the Snow Birds God gave us best too! Have a Blessed Weekend!
I like your poem a lot! And the pics are good, too!

I prefer the snowbirds that are birds!
HUGS!!!
he has been in a commercial one time. The song was,"I won't do that."
you might have heard some of his songs but not know it was him.
Main thing, you put your thought into the lines.
Hi, yes I like the snowbirds that don't pollute too. Lynn, you have such a way with words. And I admire that. You have a great weekend. (I'm no longer with Xanga).
I understand it was not an easy topic for a poetry . But you succeeded.
Love
Michel
