Month: February 2014

  • So thankful for my nice warm home.

  • I always wish I could capture the beauty of the ice coated trees.  Tonight I want to capture the way the light of night, glows through what looks like a crystal forest.  And of course there is no way to capture the gentle sounds of the trees under the restriction of ice coated branches, as the wind blows.

  • More sleet, and at below freezing temp.'s, so that means icy roads for us again. :-(

  • Returning to the Psalms:

71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.

104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.

126 It is time for thee, Lord, to work: for they have made void thy law.

136 Rivers of waters run down mine eyes, because they keep not thy law.

    Psalm 119

  • I learned a disturbing thing tonight.
Do you know it is not possible to renounce your United States citizenship?
I have been critical of other nations, because I could not understand why their citizens couldn't have the right to leave their countries if they so choose.
Tonight I learned that this is true even of the United States, which heralds freedom to the world.
This is a shock to me.
I also learned that it is illegal to mutilate a passport. Another shock. If we buy it and pay for it, is it not then ours to do as we will with it?
I always thought in the United States we were free... and free to choose anywhere we wanted to live, and where we wanted to be a citizen. I did not know that we needed 'permission' to renounce citizenship in this country. I knew that we needed permission from a country to be allowed in... but to be allowed out?
There apparently is, no such thing, as 'a man without a country', even when that might be the choice of his choosing.

  • personal revelations...
    I like to feel important.

Do you like to feel important?

  • I wish there was a way to capture the beauty of the sky... the ever changing sky
the sun and the clouds behind the trees...
the reflections of sun on top of the clouds...
    the fluffy cottony clouds.

    clouds, sun, trees

I'm looking for the answers... out there...
I know they must be... out there... somewhere...

  • and yet again...
    what a difference...
    a day...

Sunny and bright, and even on the overly warm side today...
    the perfect winter reprieve,
a perfectly perfect day for spending on the porch.
    smiley sun

Our winter weather here is a bit schizophrenic... it's supposed to be 70 tomorrow, but raining :-(

... then 50 on Tuesday, 70 again on Wed., and then back to the 50's... erm smiley

  • and...
what a difference a day makes...

Gray, gloomy, rainy, cold... blah. :-(
