"Be humbled, walk softly, down with your topsail, it is a low entry to go in at heavens gate."
from a sermon I was listening to on the radio this morning all about arrogance.
I Googled it. Here is the full original quote:
"Be humbled; walk softly. Down, down, for God's sake, my dear and worthy brother, with your topsail.
Stoop, stoop! it is a low entry to go in at heaven's gate." Samuel Rutherford

Oh my yes, God is teaching me humility. It's all about Him, not us! And that's a great quote by Samuel Rutherford, too.
That is a good thought. Seems like I feel a backache coming on!
Hehehe
I am 80 and thinking about my entrance into the next dimension.
Nicely worded.
Yes, there is no entrance for those who would go by their own effort and with human credentials. We must have the wedding garments provided by the Bridegroom. His righteousness and beauty cannot be achieved by the works of our flesh.
What a great quote!
And a lack of love, forgiveness, grace, peace, mercy, joy...all things that we can only find within ourselves from a relationship with God.
There is a lack of humility in our world today.
HUGS!!!
