Here is what we must remember. Before when Xanga said they might have to close people were leaving. And some found new homes and didn't come back. Also you must remember in Summertime, people are doing outdoor things and things like this start in Fall and work to middle Spring. So I think once the Fall gets here you will see people back around. Bro. Doc
I don't get it. But it sucks!
Xanga isn't saved. Xanga 2 will be launched, but Xanga 1 will die when they eventually transition.
A lot of my friends vanished in June. I miss them. Maybe they will return? Hope so.
I guess it just means that those of us who are left have to band together and connect.
The problem is Xanga told everyone they may lose their homes and kept everyone in the dark until the very last day. So,folks had to assume the worst and move on to other sites. The buzz of activity was most folks saying their farewells and getting in their final posts.
Now that folks have moved on, Xanga comes out and says "all is okay", but folks have no motivation to come back after saying their farewells and getting situated in their new locations. Folks who won't being paying to blog see no reason to return.
It's kind of like a building complex telling everyone they may be evicted at the end of the month, and then goes silent. So as it gets close to the end of the month, most people move out. It then doesn't matter if the complex says on the last day "the building is saved" , since folks already flew the coop.
In short, it's the result of bad business and marketing.
like the Who's of Whoville said "We are here, We are here WE ARE HERE!" (well, some of us anyhow)
I'm still here but things have been really crazy. Haven't really had time to post here, and even though I have a lock on my page, I see a "stranger" has visited. A no name. Now, I don't get how that can be. So I'm a little shy of posting anything personal. Youngin got a job three hours from here so she'll be moving in less than three weeks. My husband has been dealing with health issues...found out he has a mass in his spine and has been going for tests, chiropractic and on and on. The latest MRI shows it is more than likely just a benign mass yet he is to see a Neurosurgeon just to be sure it's not cancer. Hope you have a good weekend. I'll check back in on Sunday.
@MadraysGarden - Wow. Hi Jan, alot going on in your life. I will be lifting you and your family in prayers... a successful move for your daughter... and good news on your husband's back and test results. I will pray all tests come back clear. I pray the Divine Chaplet daily. Blessings to you. I hope your strength is keeping up for your own health issues. <3
Hey, does anyone know if registrations have been cut off? I have a freind who just had twin baby girls and was saying she wanted to start a new blog, so I recommended xanga and momaroo.com, but the registration form does not appear when I click it. Is registration down while they are doing this 2.0 bull crap?
The XangaTeam never intended to save Xanga.
Their intent was to squeeze the last bit of significant cash out of Xanga by duping a bunch of suckers into paying a $40,000+ cash bonus to the XangaTeam.
Creating a bogus crisis is the best way to separate a fool from his money.
And if they can get 500 or so dummies to pay $50 a year for what the rest of world offers for free, that's all the better.
That comes out to an additional $25,000 a year in beer money for a small group of web programmers who have long moved on to other more lucrative endeavors.
It's like winning a war, except in the end everyone dies and there's no one left to celebrate the victory. If you look around in the groups section lots of people are still updating though.
Yes, a lot have moved elsewhere. Too bad. I guess we can learn to know those who are left better.
@ata_grandma - Yes, it is kind of empty around here. Maybe we can start over with a few old and some new friends.
I wonder how many of us are still around and just waiting to see what will happen? I did't pledge because I paid for Premium in May, so I'm SUPPOSED to have time left. If Xanga 2 ever does come into being and is a good place with a community feel, I imagine I will pay for it. I quit Pogo, so I have a little extra to spend.
It's not really saved, though. They're going to a paid model for blogging. So, it will never be the same. I can't afford to pay for a blog. Finances are too tight. So, when they switch, I'll be on wordpress, the free version, unless I find a better blogging site. Makes me sad.
Thank you for praying for us. I am not experiencing strength in my health...if anything, it's been a big struggle lately. Breathing, etc. Not fun. That's life.
They are playing on facebook until the new xanga arrives!
I'm still around.
Just reducing my blogging a bit while I'm focused on a major promotional campaign.
Being still in existence is not the same thing as being saved.
In talking to Joel if one wants to us 2.0 you will have to cough up 48 bucks a year to use 2.0 for blogging or you can. This will be the death of Xanga, because there are quite a few that just don't have 48 extra dollars, or will want to pay it when they still are fine blogging sites out there for free. Bro. Doc
I was reading over the comments again. I guess we can be like Frank, stick around and pester each other.

@GreekPhysique - @BroDoc - @CuddlyKat - @coolmonkey - @ata_grandma - Wow, people! I feel better now.
@BroDoc - It's just that when people thought it was going to disappear, it was as busy as a beehive.
Now the bees have all flown away.
Well, Lynn, you poor thing--you are stuck with me---I am staying and will be a big pest.
@HUMOR_ME_NOW - Hi Frank, I am happy to be stuck with you. My day would be so boring if I could not pester you.
@JstNotherDay - Thank you. And I always act like a gentleman.
