  • The Right moves... the Right stuff

    ?
"Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country"  ?
At one time these words reverberated in the hearts of all Americans.

Does our country need help today?
    The answer is yes...

and Americans have always been willing to answer the call...
    however,

if our country wants its people to keep stepping up, then the leading must come from the top...
give the people an incentive to want to help the country...

let the leaders be the first to make the right moves...
let them be the first to take some cuts to help the deficit...
let them give up the perks which they enjoy off the backs of hard laborers who can not even afford their own insurance, a new vehicle, their own home, or even a vacation... while politicians are playing golf every week and regularly flying off to all sorts of locals.

Let us see our leaders give up second and third homes mansions bought while they live off of tax dollars taken from the general public, so that others might have their hard earned money in their own pockets to buy even one decent home.
Enough lip service to the people by the politicians, it is time for some action.
    Time for some of that,
"elected by the people, for the people".

  • You are right, Lynn.

    We need leadership by example.

  • I totally agree with you! That would be so great! I think some of our "leaders" are not really leading anybody. They are only out for themselves. We need to pray like never before!

  • Yes, indeed! How did the people elect such pond scum anyways?

  • I read recently that the new pope lives in regular housing, he seems so down to earth and humble. I wish that for our leaders, things have gotten so out of control.

BTW, thank you for the comment on my site the other day.

  • @purpleamethyst76 - Yes, the Pope is setting the example our government leaders need to follow... now if only they would... then they also would have the hearts of the people and not just their paychecks, but their loyalty.

  • @mcbery - Pond scum seems to be all that there is anymore.

  • Yea, I'd run for office myself if it weren't for my checkered past. I think more normal people should do so. At least they would not be swayed by lobbyists and big company CEOs vying for a new bill or something stupid. I think also that there needs to be a limit on politicians length of term. Two terms max sounds about right.
