put him on Santa's sleigh just for me... to be delivered to my address...(to keep for all future Christmases to come.

~ all I want for Christmas ~

All this today had me wondering if my mother still bothers with decorations since her husbands passing.
It got me thinking about the last time I visited and it is a funny story. I went down at Christmastime
and there was a nice Christmas gathering in the community club house which my mother had been involved
in the planning/preparation of... this made me remember the reason she had been involved... She had to
do community service... at 70+ years of age my mother who was never in any kind of trouble her whole life,
was ordered by the court to do community service. What was her crime? Parking in a handicap parking space,
with a handicap decal which was for her husband whom just happened not to be with her this trip. Apparently
somebody complained and she was confronted and ticketed. She went to court to avoid the horrendous
cost of the fine.
Imagine begrudging a 70 year old woman, shopping alone for her 80+ husband, taking advantage of a
closer parking space. It's not even like there weren't other handicapped spaces available.
Have you ever seen how many handicap spaces Walmart provides? Of course it was Florida and those spaces
probably get used alot more down there with all the retired folks.
Anyway, it is a funny story to tell.... my mother the 70+ year old having to do community service. lol

Your poor Mom! But it makes for a funny story after-the-fact.
Ha! Or is Santy the man you want?! He only works on night a year!
so he'd have lots of free time the rest of the year!
Ooh, I hope Santy is listening and you get your "energetic man" for Christmas!
HUGS!!!
Hi Carolyn, I figured you'd appreciate my request for a man.
oh my goodness! I think that court is a regular Scrooge!
I actually put more blame on the police officer who wrote the ticket, but in the end run
the community service probably wasn't a bad thing. It got my mother out of the house
and more in touch with her neighbors. I think she enjoyed it and it was good for her.
You know what they say about the Lord working in mysterious ways?
Unbelieveable!! Sorry it happened.
One elderly gal at a former Baptist chuch long ago was watering her lawn with a hose and the man next door said something mean to her. She turned the hose on him and had to stand in front of a judge and plead guitly. She wqs very embarrasssed at herself.
