  • Now I'm a gloomy gus, and grieved that I can think of nothing to cheer myself up.

    gloomy gus

    down in the dumps

I have been to the doctor today, and I hate going to the doctor, because it feels that all I do is complain...
there is not much that can be done.

I thought the Bible had a verse about keeping a cheerful countenance, but I am not finding it.

  • so off the top of my head I cannot quote book chapter and verse, but in one place I believe Jesus told a group of people not to cover their face in ashes, as the sadducees did, to show repentance and sorrow for having snned, because they did so to be seen by men and were not truly repentant.

On the other hand I understand not wanting to complain. That has gotten me into trouble because I failed to go to the Dr when I really needed to. It's fine to put on the best face you can, but don't be afraid to show some pain :) we all hurt in one way or another from time to time.

  • I found this for you ... Proverbs 15:13a: A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance. Also in Proverbs 17:22a: A merry heart doeth good like a medicine. There's always something in the Word to cheer me up when I'm down. Prayers that you'll feel better soon, Lynn.Tomorrow is a new day ... and remember, His mercies are new every morning! :)

  • I know laughter is good medicine! :-D

Why did the cow cross the road?!
To get to the udder side! Ha! :-P

You know...sometimes on a gloomy day we need can be Grumpy! Then on a bright day we can be Happy! And then on a sick day we can be Sneezy! And then on a silly day we can be Dopey! And then on a shy day we can be Bashful! And then on a tired day we can be Sleepy!

But, ugh on the days we have to go see the Doc! :o

Ha! I think I worked in all 7 Dwarfs!!! :-D

HUGS and Love and Laughter!!! :-D

  • Well,Lynn, do not hesit , please go to the doctor's .

    Love
    Michel

  • Albeit sad, that is a cute puppy.
Albeit currently gloomy, you are still a good person.
I hope the doctor had something positive to tell you.
