After a very active summer, the birds seem to have moved on already...
all is quiet. I have seen only two cardinals and over the summer I was seeing nearly a dozen at a time,
plus multitudes of other species.
I wonder if this, and the lack of any lizards this summer, is the prelude
of the very cold winter which is predicted to come this year...
and according to the Farmer's almanac for the next 4 or 5 years.
As I type, I have one lizard sitting over my shoulder, in my tree...
the first I have seen all summer, and possibly the last I will see this year.
I am so pleased to see him sitting there.
I am hoping he stays to eat all my spiders which have been prolific over the summer. The wasps and hornets seem to have disappeared also...
all a prelude to the change of seasons and the coming of winter. One lone bird sings a beautiful song in the not too distant, distance.

Hi Lynn, yes winter is coming. We need to have a serious winter in California.
My exercise program is going fine. I even did my old Gym home body toning exercises and I talked to my wife about walking. We took about a 1.5 mile walk and yesterday to the longer one--over 2 miles. I will check the distance with the car one day. I am doing so well that I had leg cramps last night
I hope you get started and we can be accountable to each other.

yes Lynn, less of birds , less of bees. It is worrying . Where are you gone beautiful nature ?
Fortunately you have this cute lizard to accompany you.

Now that you mention it.....The same thing is happening here....We usually have cricket's trying to get to the house, but this year, we haven't seen any.....Only a wasp or two this summer, and we usually have to fight them all summer long....
The birds are silent now....And that's unusual, because they usually stick around until the middle of fall....
Bitter cold, is predicted.....Nothing much said about the snow, just bitter cold....I'm sure though, there will be more snow then we normally have, along with that bitter cold.
Your words are soothing...and I can see the lizard and hear the lone bird.
Yes, the creatures know Winter is on the way...so they're all heading south to vacation on the beaches!
HUGS!!!
Hey don't get lost reading my posts. I am a simple person. I probably just hear and read things that you don't. I watch Jeopardy and get lost too!
Yes, (big sigh) time to winterize stuff. Hopefully we can escape winter for a little this winter. I mean by going south where it's warmer.
