Hold on - or let go
This post was prompted by a question asked over at murisopsis site.
I am one who holds on… God is trying to make me let go.
I am currently wanting to hold on to the bits and pieces of the life I built and had…
God seems to be telling me to let go… I do not seem able… I do not know how…
I don’t want in a few years to wish I still had the things that I would be letting go of.
I keep hearing the words of Yshwe(known as Jesus)…‘if you want to follow me….’
… ‘go and sell all that you have…’
… in other words… let go.
I find myself perpetually asking God’s forgiveness for not letting go. Why do I seem so unable?
… because of my kids… I want some things left for them.
I want those things to be there to comfort them someday…. but what if someday never comes…
what if I am holding on to things they will never care about?Changes are ahead for me. I am not going to get to enjoy my most enjoyable time of the year.
However, I have found this lovely song for your listening enjoyment.

Thank you for a beautiful song. I could get the general idea even though I don't speak Spanish or Hebrew. I have heard it said that we should hold everything with an open palm. It's not so much getting rid of things as being willing to let God take them away if He wants to.
RYC: No, I live in Florida but we both grew up in Western New York.
Change is never easy (even if it is a good change) and is often scary...but God goes out ahead and is preparing the way. I always find comfort that God is never surprised...as human-beans we are often shocked or surprised by things, but God know what is coming and wants to prepare us to face it. The good and the not-so-good!
Keep trusting, SweetLynn! I am praying for you and your kids!
I think you will know when to hold on and when to let go.
HUGS!!!
Let go? yes but with measure and reason . Jesus does not ask to let go our family and let it in the misery. His commandment is LOVE

So sorry it will be a stressful time for you this fall! Maybe there will be some pleasant surprises and it will be better than expected. I hope so.
About the tomato? I had to laugh. Rodney can be quirky sometimes. He probably had a marker and decided to decorate the tomato and make so no one else would eat it.
I think Michel is right about letting go. I think we hold on to Jesus forever for our loved ones. Doesn't always turn out how we think. The older we get the more we realize we will leave it all behind someday. I guess I need to go find out what's important enough to hold on to!
God bless you and keep you this fall!
You bless me so, my friend... the way you share your heart... and your faith and trust in our Lord. I loved the song... thanks for sharing it. I too like what Michel stated.
