  • Jesus said, do not worry, for what amount of worry will change any outcome...?
    and yet I do... worry...
look at the state of the world...
I do not wish to perish in terror and torture.
I want to be prepared. I want to escape.
    I want, not to worry.
    I want to feel safe.
I no longer feel safe in the world.
Enemies approach from every side and our government seems blind to the approach.
The enemy is within. It has been allowed to cross unsuspected and come within our borders...
like the Trojan horse of old.
I want myself and my children protected and there seems no way.

Jesus said, do not worry, for no amount of worry will change a thing...

Jesus, I put my trust in You. I will fight the fear and I will continue to combat the worry,
and I ask Your gracious help in so doing. Help my faith. Help me be strong. Help me to feel protected.

  • Today's verse:
Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous.
Yes, wait patiently for the LORD. – Psalms 27:14

    I am waiting.....
    and hoping...
    and praying...
and trusting... (or doing my best to...)

  • If you've never heard Michael Combs' music...
I am finding it a real treat...
a capturing of the old American spirit.

~ How Can You Refuse Him Now ~

Goodness, this man's music just blesses me.

  • John Adams, second President of the United States, reminded Virginia legislator John Taylor: “Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide” (letter dated April 15, 1814).

Hmmm... and I always thought democracy was the way to go....
but I should know better... no human system of governance can govern itself for long... they all become corrupt.
Only God's system will be everlasting.

The ancient Greek philosopher Plato famously warned, “tyranny naturally arises out of democracy, and the most aggravated form of tyranny and slavery out of the most extreme form of liberty” (The Republic, Book VIII).

  • 'Who shot cock robin?' ... the big question...
except in this case it's, 'Who shot down Malaysia airliner?'

  • Oh goodness... everyday the news...
Has everyone seen, or heard about, the letter of Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions to Congress?
    http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/07/14/EXCLUSIVE-Sessions-Warns-All-Of-Congress-Obama-s-New-Immigration-Strategy-Threatens-Foundation-Of-Our-Constitutional-Republic

This can be either good news or bad...
It is only good if people will actually look up from their petty distractions, and entertainments, and take notice... LISTEN and DO SOMETHING ! Take action... write the necessary letters, make the necessary phone calls.
Be careful who you elect !!!

and then there's another Malaysian airliner in trouble... and who shot it down ?
Gracious the news just gets worse and worse.

  • Today's verse:

I am praying to you because I know you will answer, O God.
Bend down and listen as I pray.
    – Psalms 17:6 (NLT)

6 I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech. (KJV)

I am praying to you because I know you will answer, O God.
Turn Thou Thine ear to me I ask, to hear my pleas.
    – Psalms 17:6 Lynn version

  • Today's Bible verse:

But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me.  – Psalms 13:5

But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. (KJV)

I have trusted You to deal with me kindly and my heart will rejoice for I know that You shall bring us to salvation.  - Psalms 13:5  Lynn version

    a day of storms.....
the moon is hiding, slightly visible, behind clouds tonight.

  • Lynn's lament

I guess everybody wants to write their own story...
I wanted mine to be the one where the forest critters gather 'round, birds singing their songs, landing on my shoulders or my finger... the bunnies hopping around my ankles....
but some people I guess are more for Nightmare on Elm Street, or The Nightmare Before Christmas...
I was more for Cindy Lou Who, while others are more for the Grinch...
I was for Tiny Tim, while others may be more for Scrooge...
I wanted to fill my world... our world... with beauty...
not the nightmare... not the drama... not the tragedy.........
not the things that shake a world to pieces.

I wanted to paint our world, and your memories, with beautiful brush strokes...
because I knew... or anyway, believed... that no one wants to leave a world of beauty.

  • Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy,
Hail our life, our sweetness and our hope.
    To thee do we cry,
    Poor banished children of Eve;
To thee do we send forth our sighs,
Mourning and weeping in this vale of tears.

℣ Pray for us O holy Mother of God,
℟ that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ, thy Son.

O God, our refuge and our strength, look down with mercy upon the people who cry to Thee; and by the intercession of the glorious and immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, of Saint Joseph her spouse, of the blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, and of all the saints, in Thy mercy and goodness hear our prayers, Amen.
