  • 'when God closes a door He opens a window' ?

I am seeing many closed doors, not many open windows...
have I lost my sight ?
am I afraid to fly ?

    hehehe -
maybe I am just missing something....

trust God  maybe I'm meant to fly....

    move forward

    praise Him in the hallway

  • I have heard this before. I still do not know the Biblical basis for it except possibly a Rev 2 or 3 church--Philadelphia I think.

I don't think this is true, but I understand the reasoning.

I think the doors are mostly open. The hard part is walking through therm. lol

    Hope you are doing OK.

    hugs

    • Hmm, I think you are probably right Frank. I did wonder if there was any Biblical basis for it.
My doors are all closing... my world is closing in on me. :-(

hehehe - I just re-read your comment and now it has me pondering...
you are like my daughter... you see the glass half full, when I see it half empty...
in this case it is the doors which can be seen as closed or open. :-)
The doors to where I want to go are closed... but by your comment I sort of see that
does not mean that there are not doors open, they are just not where I want to go. :-)
I like to be the author of my own destiny.

      I've just found this:
famous quote by Alexander Graham Bell, the inventor of the telephone. He said:
“When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully
upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.”

  • I like the saying on the last picture. I never heard that one before.

  • My favorite is the last picture. There are some circumstances in my life where I don't see any open doors or even windows. I need to learn to priase Him in the hallway. His timing is best.

    • You summed up exactly what I was trying to say. :-)
When I found that last picture it really hit home.
Yes, closed doors, no open windows... so I must praise Him from where I am, and as I wait. :-)
I still think the first is my favorite picture though. ;-)

  • I love the first one and the last one!
I think sometimes God provides a way or way of escape and we have to find it and then be willing to step through/to change! :-)
I've been in some "hallways" in my life and had to find the beauty there...Often in the worse times we can find some small joys to be thankful for! :-)
    EXCELLENT post, SweetL!!! :-)
Wish we still had the "rec" feature!
    HUGS!!! :-)

  • I really like the first photo ~ interesting photographic contrast. The last saying is good ~ I need to praise Him, no matter what ~ :)

  • I love that first picture too! Also love praising Him in the hallway! Yes, by the time we learn a lesson it's on to the next one! Sigh. Sometimes I don't learn very well. Thank you for the kind visit. In a world of trouble we need to life each other up. :-)

  • I found your reply.lol There are arguments on both sides, but closed doors as the term goes which I do not like simply means there are many other doors ready to open. Matt 7:7 and following I think Ask, and it is yours. Seek and you are finders keepers, Ring the door bells and they will open. It is more like knocking looking in and seeing if that is for us. lol
